I predict the Swans will win by 72 points!!! LOL. Go the Bloods...next stop C'wood- bring it on!
Reply:i have looked into my crystal ball and it says the umpires will get the swannnnnnnnnies over the line by 23pts
Reply:According to my calculations...... (only joking) Sydney would win by 9pts.
Reply:Cheer cheer the red and the white. Hawthorn are too worried about their hairdo's
Reply:sydney

Can you name two full-forwards who played for Hawthorn?
Besides Lance Franklin, I want to know who were two other very good full forwards that played for Hawthorn in the past.

I have some new trees(crabapple,redbud,hawthor... big will they grow in 1 year?
Growth : Development of young redbud to the flowering stage is rapid. Young redbuds have been observed first flowering when less than 4 years old but do not fruit the first year of blossoming. Under optimum conditions new trees can grow 1 ft. in height the first growing season. Growth slows a little after the tree reaches 10'. Continuous terminal growth is related to light intensity, photoperiod, and temperature. Once established, trees can endure much shading.
I have some new trees(crabapple,redbud,hawthor... big will they grow in 1 year?
yes, they will, if you tend them well

Who agrees hawthorn could be a power house this year?
with the likes of crawford, hodge, campbell brown and a couple of others missing on the weekend they looked awesome even though they didn't play much ,and id say the cats are far from having it in the bag this year.
what are your thoughts?
Who agrees hawthorn could be a power house this year?
agree forky, they just might be, but they did only play Melbourne, who i think are the worst team in the league.
having said too, the hawks had some decent players out.
i think the hawks will make the 8, good side, on the way up.
the geelong bloke from the USA, mate that is the first time I've seen you say anything a bit stupid, Franklin wont have to kick 6-9 a game, for a start no one will kick 6-9 a game, that's at 6=132 for the year and at 9 a game=198, bit of a silly statement mate.
the hawks have enough goalkickers to make the top 4, Williams, dew,Franklin, great onballers, good defence too.
the cats, still reckon they are a good thing forky, they are the complete package, plenty of goalkickers to share the load, Bartel didn't fire on the weekend either. i reckon they're home already.
go tigers.
Reply:After they thrashed Melbourne they could have some potential and will do even better when they get there team back to full strength.
Reply:they sure can be, i am quite biased but i don't see another team with the potential as the hawks at the moment.
the players you mention will only improve this team, i think they can push for the top 4 for sure.
Reply:yeah i think the Cats, Sanits and the Hawks will fight it out
Reply:Buddy Franklin had better not get hurt or suspended. He will need to kick 6-9 a game for Hawthorn to make the top 4. I think Hawthorn will make the 8 any way.
Reply:there is a chance this year that they will but remember this
Carlton have got great spirit this year
but there is a big chance of hawthorn
Reply:Simply Yes
They have been steadily improving over the last few years with basically the same playing group
They have recruited well this year, Dew could be the surprise buy of the year Rioli and Stokes look the goods
Settled coaching staff, flamboyant president I reckon its bad Karma to seriously talk up your teams chances but if we don't win the flag this year I will be a little disappointed
Dark sec makes a lot of sense it is only early days
Isn't it great its only round one and were already talking about September
Reply:definitely
with the players still to come in they would have to be one of the deepest sides in the league excluding geelong. with williams coming back the likes of rioli might not get a game but at most other clubs they would he in the starting 18 every week. they have good skills as well. i think dew was a good pick up just for his delivery inside 50. he could help the power forwards like franklin and roughead kick an extra 10 goals each this year
Reply:I think they can do well but there are other teams just as good as the Hawks though, It is a very tight race to the top.
Reply:I wouldn't say powerhouse, the guys are young and still getting that all vital experience. Very pleased about all the outs we had and still played good footy. The Hawks will be up there again at the end of the season.
The fact is it's just one match, i agree they looked great and was happily cheering for them with my son.
I think it wouldn't have mattered who played Melbourne last week the result would have been the same, they just weren't switched on.
Rogue, you know your boys can't beat us ..... bring it on and the hawks will walk away with the win.
- Go Hawks
Reply:I doubt whether they will go all the way. One could not guage them on the game against melbourne - because , let's face it - Melbourne do not have much talent running around the ground.
Plus Hawthorn, in this first match anyway, had a couple of forwards who were, inexperienced; big headed; grandstanding to the crowd etc..... I will wait to see how they go when they come across teams with a bit more talent than Melbourne.
Reply:They look strong at the moment, but we are only one game in to the season! They still need to prove themselves over the long haul, but they are a force to be reckoned with at the moment.
Reply:I think that Hawthorn will be a power house because they have some of the best players in the league. Stuart Dew looks to be a great player even at his age. I think this is Hawthorn's lucky year and I'm not saying this because I barrack for them.
Reply:HELL YEAH!!!! GO HAWKS!!!!!! THE CATS ARE PROBABLY SHITTING THEMSELVES!!!!!
Reply:Answer: Yes

"Yes the hawks will definitely make the finals and are one of the 4 teams (in my opinion) that can make the grand final.
They Have a Great Midfield, one of the best going around with Mitchell, Hodge, Crawford, Lewis, Sewell and Young.
Hawthorn Have a well structured forward line built around Franklin but also including Boyle, Roughead, M.Williams, Dew and Rioli.
Their defence is pretty good as well but not as good as others. Guerra, Birchall, Bateman, C.Brown and Ellis make up the small/running defenders and Gilham and Croad are the key defenders, but if croad doesnt pull through (he got injured) then Roughead will go down back.
The Hawks rucks aren't great but they still do the job. Campbell and Taylor create a contest for the hawks midfielders to rove to.
So they have the potential to make the last match of the season but it's still only rd1 and we've only seen them play against the likely wooden spooners so we shouldn't judge any teams so quickly."

...in a question titled "Hawthorn Hawks?" and it was pretty much asking the same thing.
YOU must've been fooled by the margin and venue of the Cats and Hawks matches - The Cats defeated probably the 2nd best team of last year and probably the 2nd best this year as well at their home ground (PA would be more suited to aami stadium than geelong) and Hawthorn defeated the 16th best team in the comp at their (well both team's) home ground by a massive margin.
Geelong are still the best team in the comp and Port Adelaide are probably still the second team.
First answer guy is an idiot
Rogue is biased
third guy seems to have some sense
fourth guy is a sore loser cos he wants to see the cats lose!
anyways, yes they will be a 'powerhouse' but so will 3 other clubs (in my opinion). If they beat Freo at Subi they will agin ALOT more respect.

How much does it cost to get into a Hawthorn game??
i haven't been to a game in Melbourne for a few years back then all games were the same price except the scg who rip off footy fans by charging about 15dollars extra just for general admittance, but i think its about 20 or so to get in

Reply:It all depends on which stadium and where in the stadium you wish to see them.
Tickets for one adult at the Telstra Dome or M.C.G. start at about $22.

What chance do you give the crows this week against hawthorn?
they beat us last week quite well
hawthorn didn't beat us like Adelaide did, either we are playing worse now or Adelaide has gotten better, i think it is the first, we are worse, piss off tiva, bowds and a couple of others and put our young blokes back in to run like mad men.
hawks are a better side but stranger things have happened, it is in Adelaide.
What chance do you give the crows this week against hawthorn?
Last year when Hawthorn played Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, the Crows won by 71 points.
Hawthorn have so injury troubles as well, Sewell will be out, Bateman is doubtful, Robert Campbell may miss this week and also Guerra probably won't play.
Won't be a blow out, Adelaide definitely do have a chance. All depends on if the Crows can keep Buddy and Hawthorn's midfield fairly quiet.
Reply:I don't think they will, with the talls the hawks have in the forward line as well as the small crumbers it will be tough to stop them scoring, even though the Crows defence is good it will be a big task for them. Not to mention the inclusion of Dew and Hodge with a game under his belt after his hammy, think the hawks will get over the line
Reply:well i went to see the clash between these two earlier in the year and have to say that hawthorn should win easily
adelaide's lack of youth will bite them and with the loss of burton the crows will find goals hard to come by
however if buddy and roughy are in accurate hawthorn may lose
my tip:hawks by 25 points
cheers
Reply:Truthfully anything is possible. Its true Franklin is hard to stop but stop him and Hawthorn crumbles he is definitely the pace setter in that side.
Plus its being played in Adelaide with the home field advantage i think we can all agree itl be a good game.
Atleast we dont have to be winning by more than 40 points at three quarter time just to win ey Port...Still hurting i picked them last week

the answer, is 14 YEARS AGO. it has been 14 years since the hawks have beaten the crows at Aami. that is why i would give the crows a big chance. last time crows faced hawks here in aami, the crows absolutely thrashed em by a good 10 or 12 goals

Reply:None whatsoever.
Geelong are the only team with enough quality defenders to put pressure on Franklin (but two of those are now injured).
Hawks live around that guy at the moment and he looks unstoppable. Hawks by 80 points +

Adelaide can definately beat Hawthorn but they need to be in top form. It would be a major upset if the Crows won.
I think the Hawks will win easily though.
