In the late 70 & 80 who was the centre half forward for Hawthorn considered the best at the time?

%26amp; went on to coach the Brisbane Bears, now known as Brisbane lions. Also, what number did he wear? I guess is Peter Knights but I am not sure. Please help!

you have it all mixed up there.

peter knights was a centre half back, he did wear 24, he was an excellent player though, (he did play some games at c/h/f but the majority of games he was c/h/back. Ross Glenndinning, Malcom Blight, Paul Vanderhar, they were the best going around at that time along with knights, but as i said he was C/H/B.

(Royce Hart is considered to be the best of all time at c/h/f. some would say Carey but most who seen both play would say Roycey boy).

edit-louise, i added that bit in about royce hart because i felt like it, i miss read the question earlier to be honest, i thought it said 'of all time', why you had to ad he left tasmania is a mystery though, i think the majority of footy people would know that.
Reply:I'm not 100% sure and I don't know what Romper is on about either, Royce Hart left Tasmania to play for the Tigers, so I don't know why he was mentioned.
Reply:Peter Knights number 24 is the guy you're talking about

Then Dermott Brerton number 23
Reply:Are you getting mixed up with Carlton's Robert Walls?

He played a bit of CHF %26amp; went on to coach Brisbane.
Reply:Leigh Matthews - don't know his number but 3 came to mind when I thought of him playing.
Reply:Peter Knights - 24
