can you use hawthorn wood safely in tropical fish tanks?
Hawthorn wood in fish tanks?
It's not practical , it floats, it leeches tannins into the water, if it has bark on it would create an algae bloom.
Before you stick anything in a tank as the cheaper option, all the trial and error was done by somebody else donkey's years ago. If it worked we would all be using it?
Wood for fish tank use contains significant amounts of lignum; hawthorn contains too much semi cellulose which in any water rots, but in warm water faster.
Reply:Nope..
