Do you think they can make the grand final, they have a good list together this year, your thoughts
Hawthorn Hawks?
Yes the hawks will definitely make the finals and are one of the 4 teams (in my opinion) that can make the grand final.
They Have a Great Midfield, one of the best going around with Mitchell, Hodge, Crawford, Lewis, Sewell and Young.
Hawthorn Have a well structured forward line built around Franklin but also including Boyle, Roughead, M.Williams, Dew and Rioli.
Their defence is pretty good as well but not as good as others. Guerra, Birchall, Bateman, C.Brown and Ellis make up the small/running defenders and Gilham and Croad are the key defenders, but if croad doesnt pull through (he got injured) then Roughead will go down back.
The Hawks rucks aren't great but they still do the job. Campbell and Taylor create a contest for the hawks midfielders to rove to.
So they have the potential to make the last match of the season but it's still only rd1 and we've only seen them play against the likely wooden spooners so we shouldn't judge any teams so quickly.
Reply:They looked good on the weekend, so yes if they keep up that performance they can make it.
Reply:if they play the way they did against melbourne yesterday, then I have every hope in the world that they will not only make the Grand Final, but they will win it!
Reply:no they will make semi-finals and lose but did well on the weekend
Reply:They have just as much chance as Richmond getting into the Grand Final this year :)
Reply:As a Geelong fan, I have to say Hawthorne will be the sleeper team, they will be the one to watch
Reply:Unlike Sydney and Kangaroos they have some true talent. Buddy Franklin, Hodge. No need to say more.
Reply:they have a good chance at winning but they might not win but they will get there
Reply:big chance if they keep playing like they did yesterday. even with a few out atm they look a real contender this year. i say they make the prelims and lose to geelong who i think will win the flag again.
Reply:yes as long as injuries don't take a big toll and they don't get big heads!!!!!!
Reply:Yep, they have all the right ingredients, especially the most important one theses days which is depth in their list.
Reply:At least the top 4 for sure id like to see the hawks in the final
(we lost by 55)
Reply:YES!!!! Go the mighty Hawks.
Reply:Without a doubt! They have a fantastic list of young players, with enough older players to guide them and to add experience. Watching them yesterday was a joy - they were a cohesive unit that played extremely well together. When you consider they had Crawf, Hodge, Brown and others out, they must be a serious contention for the finals this year. GO HAWKS!
Reply:Yes they can, I like Hawthorn. The team has "Fire in belly" so to speak. The Hawks are flying and can challenge any team on its day. They are a definate Top 3 side in my opinion.
